Sweden Interprets Parr: Digital Photo Course
An inspiring summer course for hobby photographers looking to find depth and humor in everyday life, inspired by the visual world of Martin Parr.
Take your photography to a new, playful level this summer! Over two digital sessions, you will be guided by photographer and Fotografiska’s head guide, Karim Ajaj. Using the legendary photographer Martin Parr’s unique visual language as a starting point, you will receive challenges that help you find new perspectives and see the comical and beautiful in the everyday.
All participants who wish to will have a selection of their images presented during a weekend in August at Fotografiska.
Who is this course for?
Anyone looking for a fun photography project this summer, where the absurdities of everyday life become art. No prior experience is required, use any camera you like, whether it's a smartphone or a DSLR. This is not a technique-focused course, but rather a course about finding perspectives and inspiring one another.
The course is organized in collaboration with Stockholm Fotomaraton and FUJIFILM.

Course Layout
Session 1 – Introduction to Martin Parr’s Visual World. You will get the tools to work with daylight, composition, and storytelling, and you will receive your challenge for the summer.
Session 2 – Presentation & Wrap-up. We review the challenges, look at your images in a joint feedback session, and wrap everything up.
Between sessions: You will have access to a group chat for ongoing feedback and direct contact with the instructor.
