You're invited to an intimate evening at Fotografiska Stockholm with actress Marika Lagercrantz, reading from Ewa Stackelberg’s newly released photo book Nu är det vackert (Now it’s Beautiful). The book’s powerful images are also part of the current exhibition On Being Family.
Now it’s Beautiful explores the emotional terrain of family – the love, the wounds, and the invisible threads that tie generations together. Stackelberg uses photography as a way to understand and express the emotional legacies we carry.
About Ewa Stackelberg
Ewa Stackelberg is a renowned Swedish artist and pioneer within the tradition of the photo book. Her breakout book Berättelse för levande (A Story for the Living) received the prestigious Swedish Photo Book Award in 2001. Her work blends experimental photography with intimate storytelling and has been widely exhibited and published.
A large selection of images from her latest book Now it’s Beautiful is on view as part of the On Being Family exhibition, alongside works by Anna Clarén and Hannah Modigh.

An acclaimed Swedish actress, Marika Lagercrantz began her career in the 1970s and has been a prominent voice in both theatre and film. She has performed at The Royal Dramatic Theatre, Stockholm City Theatre and appeared in numerous feature films. Her readings bring stories to life with depth and elegance.
