World Photography Day: Alexander Mahmoud

The Power of Photojournalism in the Age of AI – An Evening with Alexander Mahmoud

Portrait of a man with dark, curly hair and a beard, looking directly at the camera. He is wearing an olive-green shirt over a black tank top against a dark, blurry background with soft lights.

In an era of AI, information overload, and fake news, photojournalism is perhaps more important than ever. On World Photography Day, we invite you to an evening at Fotografiska celebrating human testimony in a rapidly changing world.

We are honored to welcome the award-winning photojournalist Alexander Mahmoud. Drawing from his own reportage and a rich visual archive, he takes us behind the lens and into the stories that shape our contemporary world. Alexander describes the daily newspaper as "the most human thing we have" – during the evening, he will share the ethical, human, and journalistic choices behind every photograph.
